Passion For The Planet

Creative workshop in Westcott, Saturday, 23rd September, 2-4pm

Passion for the Planet is an inspiring, moving yet laughter-filled theatre project for all ages – focused around care for the planet, creativity, and legacy in the wonderful setting of the Friends Meeting House in Dorking.

The project especially created by local writer Tony Earnshaw – is a promenade performance containing drama, story-telling, music, clowning, installations, and lots of interactive silliness and fun!

From its starting point of the creation stories, this cross-generational, multi-faith performance challenges us to consider what our responsibilities are for our planet, what we are able to create, and what legacy we ourselves will leave to the world.

What is particularly unique about this amazing project is that it will feature the art and creations of over 600 local Mole Valley residents and we in Westcott have the chance to contribute at a free creative workshop at St John’s Community Hall on Saturday, 23rd September:

Your art and creations will star in our new show: Passion for the Planet

(which will be seen by at least 500 people!)

There is a special pub in Passion for the Planet called The Cat and Fiddle.

What makes The Cat and Fiddle so very special is that it is an “Animal Only pub!”

Humans have all been banned by the animals – as “humans are so very destructive, and messy, and never clean up after themselves!”

But – our human audience coming to see the show in October will need to gain entry into the pub!

So they will all need a disguise!

So your mission should you choose to accept it is…

to make a mask disguise, in the style of an animal of your choice!

The designer Chris, and the director of the show Darren, will be on hand to provide all of the materials for your mask-creations, alongside all the help and guidance that you might need with your mask-creations too!

When?             Saturday 23rd September 2.00pm to 4.00pm

Where? St John’s Community Hall, Furlong Road, Westcott

For who?         All and any any age humans welcome!

Chris/Darren will also bring all of the details of the show – so you know how to see your creations take centre stage, in October. www.damncheek.co.uk

The workshop is free but numbers are limited – so please do confirm your place with Jakki Phillips (email jakki@greenwestcott.org)
